So hide's walking in the rain, being bored, looking for something interesting, when the TARDIS falls out of the sky and lands before him. The song is clearly about hide embarking on an awesome-tastic time-space adventure ride with the Doctor and companion-du-jour. SEE! Hide's not dead, he's just lost in space-time on board the TARDIS!
